How to face impossible situation?

As we are going to enter into a new year , let’s remember the goodness and mercies that Almighty God showed upon us. Let’s rejoice in the presence of God because he has done marvelous and wonderful things in our life. If you look back we will understand what a mighty God we serve and worship. As all we know that the entire nation is going through a tough situation. Financial crisis, terrorism, broken families, natural calamities, chaos and confusion.
Everywhere we see confusing situation. We can call it as unfavorable situation.Sometimes we may say that it is impossible for me to overcome. Let me encourage you, for a child of God, the word ‘impossible’ does not exists in his dictionary. You have to say in faith I will win, I will conquer, and will enjoy the fruits of this land.
Word of God says, Jere 32:27 “behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh, Is there anything hard for me?
Luke 18:27 says “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God”
Luke 1:37 says “For with God nothing will be impossible”.
What are the impossible situations that you are facing today? I have good news for you my friend: You don’t have to panic! You don’t have to give up! You don’t have to close your eyes to ignore the problem and pretend that they do not exist! Let us read our text today.
Exo 14: 9 -14: On the above reading from the scripture, we found the people of God facing the impossible situation. On their back are the enemies marching to take them. On their left and right are tower of rocks and desert while on their front is the Red Sea.
They are literally surrounded by big problems and they have little time to think and find the solution for their escape. In this situation if we approach worldly help they will suggest to take the advice of risk management team. They will have some suggestions.
Disaster (risk) management Expert may give some suggestions:
1. Lift the surrender banner before the enemy could kill all of them.
2. Take chances by quickly mobilizing the people to fight back the enemy.
3. Delay their capture by hiding on the rocks or running on the desert. All these are the suggestions of risk management.
However, God through His servant Moses gave the threefold solution and it is completely different from the human stand point. God asked His servant Moses to tell the people, who are really confused by seeing the unfavorable situation. Moses speaks the word of God to the people. Understand that Our God is the strong tower and our refuge is in him only.
This we can call it as GOD’S THREEFOLD FORMULA TO FACE THE IMPOSSIBLE: Exo 14:13 – 14. If you apply the same thing in your life in this year you can over come impossibility in your life.
I. DO NOT BE AFRAID – (No need to surrender)
II. STAND STILL – (No need to fight back)
III. SEE THE SALVATION OF THE LORD (No need to hide)
God’s solution for tackle the situation is entirely different from the risk management or others.
We all know that it is not an easy thing to relax in the face of danger. It seems not practical to do nothing in time of distress. It is very difficult to believe something good is going to happen when we see darkness everywhere.
My dear children of God I want to tell you that,
1. You cannot overcome your fear unless you bring the problem to God in PRAYER.
2. You cannot stand still and hold your peace unless you learn to trust everything on the POWER OF GOD.
3. You cannot visualize the salvation of the Lord unless you immerse yourself in PRAISE AND WORSHIP.
These are the 3 important things; the secret so you can do what Moses has commanded to God’s people. Yes, you need these three important weapons to overcome the impossible.
• PRAYER,• POWER OF GOD, • PRAISE AND WORSHIP
When the impossible situation struck the people of God, God reveals the specific things to do. If we apply the same in our life also we can change our impossible situation into a possible. Word of God says everything is possible to those who believe. The first thing I want to tell you is:
1.DON’T PANIC BUT BRING THE PROBLEM TO GOD IN PRAYER (“Do not be afraid)
If we are panic that means we are not believing in the power of the mighty God. Understand whom we are trusting. Don’t be afraid by seeing the Pharaoh and his army. There is a powerful God who had created earth and heavens with you.
Let’s look at the Rich Shunamite women. You know how she comes in contact with the Prophet Elisha. Her son died. She never informed the same to her husband. She never wept with sorrow on the loss of her son. She did not inform the same to her servants. She just kept her son in the room, which was made for the prophet Elisha. Shut the door and went to the prophet. She never informed the case to anyone.
When Elisha saw her in the distance, the man of God said to his servant Gehazi, “Look there’s the Shunammite! Run to meet her and ask her, “are you all right” ? Is your husband all right? Is your child all right?. All these questions were asked by Gehazi. Everything is all right. She said. She never said that her son has passed away. She said everything is alright. Yes, with the faith she is saying her son is alright. Because she knows that, she has come to a prophet, who can make her son well. We have a great God who is able to tackle our situation. She was uttering the words of her faith. Her faith in the Almighty God enabled her to bring back the life of her child.
Even though we have problems, when we come in the presence of Jesus, we must say, everything is all right. Words of faith.
To whom are we going with our problems, which cannot be solved by ourselves? When we go to Jesus, with our problems, first we should understand to whom we are going and then, we should pronounce the words of faith. I am all right because my God is powerful. Even if you are not feeling well, say I am all right by the grace of God.
The second thing I want to tell you is:
II. DO NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM BY YOUR SELF BUT TRUST IN THE POWER OF GOD. (Stand still”) JESUS CAN DO THE IMPOSSIBLE WHEN WE RECOGNIZE OUR OWN POWERLESSNESS. When Jesus asked his disciple to give food to the multitude, Philip said, it is humanly impossible to feed these much people. Here he recognizes his own inability, but fails to recognize God’s sufficient ability.
a. JESUS CAN DO THE IMPOSSIBLE WHEN WE MAKE THE RIGHT RESPONSE. The test continues. Andrew, one of his disciples, said to him, there is a lad here which he had five barley loaves, and two small fishes comes upon the scene. He seems to think that perhaps Jesus can solve this problem. He should have stopped while he was ahead. But he goes on to say, " . .but what are they among so many?"
But do we not do the same at times? Instead of positive and trust in the Lord he said, "What are these among so many?" We too are degrading Lord’s power by lack of full trust.
b. JESUS CAN DO THE IMPOSSIBLE WHEN WE RELAX AND RELY SOLELY UPON HIM. He asked his disciple to arrange seating arrangement of the multitude. Asked them to serve the miracle of multiplication of bread.
The apostle Paul, recognizing his own powerlessness and later say about God’s ability to solve the impossible situation.”Now to him that is able to do exceedingly and abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that work in us” Eph 3:20.
The same thing I want to tell you in this night if you stand in the promise of the Lord you will see the miracle of God in your life. The Egyptian you see today will never see again. You stand firm. God will fight for you, you need only to be still.
III. DO NOT COMPLAIN BUT VISUALIZE THE VICTORY THROUGH PRAISE AND WORSHIP (“See the salvation of the Lord”)
Pray, Trust in the power of God, Praise and Worship Him. These are simple things to do. But are these things proven to work to solve the most complicated situations in life?
Matt. 25: 29. For everyone who has will be given more, and he will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him.
God will bless those people who give thanks for the things they enjoy as well as God will withdraw the things from them those who grumble. If you are grumble when things are delaying in your life, that means you are stopping the God’s miracles in your life.
See Naomi. She has everything she needed. Because of a famine in Bethlehem, she grumbled and left for Moab. In Moab she lost her husband and two sons. When she returned, she told her neighbors that, "Don’t call me Naomi, " she told them. "Call me Mara, because the Almighty has made my life very bitter. I went away full, but the LORD has brought me back empty. Why call me Naomi? The LORD has afflicted me; the Almighty has brought misfortune upon me."
When she lost her husband and children, she understands that she was full. When we lose something, we will understand the value of it. When we have many things we do not understand the value of it. It is better to understand the value of things that are provided by God well in advance and give thanks to God for the same than to lose it.
Acts 16:25-26 we see the example of Apostle Paul and Silas. They we were in the Prison. To escape from the prison seems impossible to them. Paul and Silas was started to praise God in the midst of an impossible situation. They praised God when they were in agony. God responded to their praise and worship and delivered them.
Let me tell you when you face an impossible situation in your life Instead of murmuring, if you start to praise and worship the Lord miracle will happen. The Egyptian you see today will never see again. Stand firm and see the deliverance of the Lord. God will fight for you.
Conclusion: To experience the impossible becoming possible we must praise God with whole of our heart. Let’s apply these three weapons in a true to our life. Next time if you face an impossible task, you know what to do:
I. DON’T PANIC BUT BRING THE PROBLEM TO GOD IN PRAYER (“Do not be afraid”)
II. DO NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM BY YOUR SELF BUT TRUST IN THE POWER OF GOD.(Stand still”)
III. DO NOT COMPLAIN BUT VISUALIZE THE VICTORY THROUGH PRAISE AND WORSHIP
